Application security
Ship software that holds up when someone tries to break it.
We find and fix the weaknesses in your code, your dependencies, and your release process before they reach production. Our engineers review applications the way an attacker would, then help your developers fix the root cause.
- Threat modelling and design review
- Manual secure code review
- SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning
- Fixes, not just findings
Secure by design
Security flaws are cheapest to fix before they ship.
Broken access control, injection, leaky APIs, and outdated libraries still account for a large share of real-world breaches. They are rarely exotic; they slip in because teams are moving fast and nobody has looked at the code with an attacker's eye. The later they are found, the more they cost to fix.
Agleam Labs is a software engineering company first, so we read your code as developers who have written systems like it. We combine design-level threat modelling, hands-on code review, and automated testing, and we stay involved until the fixes are merged and verified.
What we deliver
Security across the whole software lifecycle.
From the whiteboard to the release pipeline, we look for weaknesses wherever they can enter your product.
01 Threat modelling +
- STRIDE
- Data flow diagrams
- Trust boundaries
- Abuse cases
Structured workshops that map your system, its data flows, and its trust boundaries, then identify the threats worth designing against.
02 Secure code review +
- Manual review
- Auth flows
- Business logic
- OWASP Top 10
Senior engineers review critical paths by hand, focusing on authentication, authorisation, input handling, and business logic that scanners miss.
03 Static analysis (SAST) +
- SAST
- Semgrep
- CodeQL
- Rule tuning
- Triage
Automated code scanning tuned to your languages and frameworks, with noise filtered out so developers only see findings that matter.
04 Dynamic testing (DAST) +
- DAST
- OWASP ZAP
- Burp Suite
- Authenticated scans
Running applications and APIs tested from the outside for injection, misconfiguration, and session flaws in a safe, agreed environment.
05 Dependency and supply-chain security +
- SCA
- SBOM
- Licence checks
- Dependabot
- Upgrades
Software composition analysis to find vulnerable or risky open-source packages, with an upgrade path and a software bill of materials.
06 API security testing +
- REST
- GraphQL
- OWASP API Top 10
- JWT
- Rate limiting
REST and GraphQL APIs checked for broken object-level authorisation, excessive data exposure, rate limiting, and token handling.
07 Mobile app security +
- iOS
- Android
- OWASP MASVS
- Secure storage
iOS and Android apps reviewed for insecure storage, weak transport security, hard-coded secrets, and unsafe use of platform features.
08 Remediation and developer coaching +
- Fix support
- Secure patterns
- Training
- Retesting
We help fix what we find, write secure patterns into your codebase, and run practical sessions so your team avoids the same issues.

How we work
A clear path from risk to resolved.
-
01
Scope
We agree which applications, APIs, and environments are in scope, and what level of testing fits your risk.
-
02
Model and test
We threat-model the design, review critical code by hand, and run automated SAST, DAST, and dependency scans.
-
03
Report
You receive prioritised findings with proof, impact, and specific remediation guidance for each one.
-
04
Fix and verify
We support your developers through the fixes, then retest to confirm each issue is closed.

Talk to an expert
Tell us what you are working on. A senior engineer will reply with honest advice and a suggested next step.
Book a call →Is this the same as a penetration test? + −
It overlaps but goes further. A penetration test looks at a running system from the outside. Application security also covers design review, source code, and dependencies, which finds problems a black-box test cannot see.
Do you need access to our source code? + −
For secure code review and static analysis, yes. We can work in your repository with read-only access, and all code is handled under NDA. Dynamic testing can be done without code access if you prefer.
How long does an application security review take? + −
A focused review of a single web application or API typically takes one to three weeks, depending on size and complexity. We confirm the timeline once scope is agreed.
Will testing affect our production system? + −
We prefer to test against a staging environment that mirrors production. If production testing is needed, we agree the timing, limits, and safe test accounts with you in advance.
Can you help our developers fix the issues? + −
Yes. Each finding comes with specific guidance, and we can pair with your team, review pull requests, or implement fixes ourselves, then retest to confirm they hold.
Can this become an ongoing service? + −
Yes. Many teams move from a one-off review to continuous scanning in the pipeline and periodic manual reviews of new features, which we can set up and run with you.
